We offer the Snugburner conversion Mark 2 now. This is because Graham has
made it more "engineer friendly to fit". How's that?
The burner is now set out on 3 plates.
Firstly the mounting plate is fitted to the cooker. Dependant on
model you may have to drill and tap 4 x 1/4" threads into the inner cast iron housing .This plate is already cut and drilled and has 4 threaded studs welded to it , so
the burner plate simply slides on to it and bolts up.
The final plate is the thin cover plate, which carries the oven thermostat. So
when you need to service the burner its MUCH easier not to have to worry about
the oven stat .which simply stay in place but the cover lifts off for access to
the burner.
Notes. The 6 mm bundy oil pipe comes UP from the air space under the fan unit .It doesn't touch it- that might cause vibration noise. The orange unit with green neon is our integral timer , allowing 3 minutes firing then 3 minutes resting. The oil pump is on the left , with the easy accessible connection for your pressure gauge on the top. The flying leads are deliberate - they connect to the oven stat which is just in the photo on the Aga's left - allowing it to moved away whilst you work on the burner.
The cover is on - all you do to control the cooker is turn up the stat knob!

Why convert to Pressure Jet?
All AGA's made since 1941 can be converted to oil, gas or LPG .Also most Rayburns. This section tells you more! For some time the quality of UK oil has been getting worse- thicker, more like French oil. This causes a quick build up of carbon and leads to loss of heat, i.e. your burner needs a service. Both the manufacturers ( Aga ) and after market burner makers have been aware of this problem and the ONLY alternative is a pressure jet burner -that's one that forces oil and air together in a controlled way and this produces an EFFICIENT BURN! I have been at the "sharp end" of this development fitting a new miniature burner into Agas in Spain and France. First model? A Standard we have installed in Spain, running since October 2004 on Spanish oil.

We expect the installation cost on cookers already installed ( with suitable flue liner and oil line) to be around £1500 , but estimate that in LESS THAN 5 YEARS you will convert or have to buy a NEW AGA to be able to use your oil.
4 oven versions. We have found that the heat transference from top to bottom oven is not as good with the Snugburner as the ash pit side wall on the oven side doesn't get so hot. Therefore its a good idea to increase the heat transfer by filling the space between the two ovens with fireclay. This gives a much better heat cross over and the lower oven is then to the usual heat level
Bio Diesel. We have an Aga in Radstock, Somerset running on bio diesel The Aga has run on it since last April New tax on bio makes it nearly 3 times as expensive to buy that kerosene ( £1.05 a litre compared to 45p) so you have to be rich to be GREEN!
