dated 23 April 2008 The OF7 Rayburn - later the 208K - is a lovely little cooker with one cooking oven and a warming drawer .It's a nice under stressed unit from the days of cheap oil, when the little woman could stay at home with the little 'uns playing around her feet. It produces a lot of hot water, maybe a bathroom rad as well is heated and chugs away needing a 6 monthly service OF7 being tested for its "certificate" summer 2006 .Cream 208K just in! Another just in - a WHITE left hand flue G7 - easily made into a Snugburner'd cooker on oil! From £2200 Not any more! Oil ain't cheap, the kids are at the childminders all day and the Rayburn's gentle kitchen heat is not needed most of the time and the "little woman" is slaving away to pay the childminder and her share of the quaint cottage mortgage!
"Shall we get rid of it dear? " He asks. If only we could make it more ECONOMICAL! The Snugburner is the answer. All it does now, plus MORE hot water ( say 3 rads) and yet runs on any oil ( diesel, mazout ie french oil, Bio-diesel Spanish diesel you name it! ) Controlled by an OVEN STAT you can set it to come on say at 5pm so you can start cooking at 6 - with TONS of hot water ( up to 3 rads) and a very hot hob ( enough to fry chips) . Controlled by oven heat & a time clock it will slumber when you do and fire up automatically about 1 hour before you do- if you want a cooked breakfast or boiling kettle / coffee machine when you come down. Fitted in a DAY, no changes to the cooker front and DO AWAY with the oil BM valve on the side panel. Oven up to heat MUCH FASTER. Boiler output MUCH better ( up to 13,000 btus) Needs an annual service - not every 6 months- can be done by any OIL OFTEC engineer as standard technology unlike black art rayburn oil servicing! Radiators. This cooker isn't designed to run several radiators but please ask me about what it can do in your house. We have one - a gas 209 originally- heats 3 rads and hot water on a NARROW BOAT Gotta G7? Its got the SAME BODY as the OF7 so can take the Snugburner conversion. This cooker was introduced in 1973 and at the same time rayburn dropped the single lid - so if yours has twin cast iron lids its from that era.If yours runs on EXPENSIVE LPG or you just prefer oil to natural gas we can supply the Snugburner conversion to fit your cooker as well Some COOKERS in stock March 07 for fitting with this burner include Hunter Green G7 - easily converted and no external modifications White, Sable, Cream OF7s in stock .Some photos All less than £2300 inc burner fitted We also have BIGGER boilers we can fit to make them run up to 8 rads! BIO DIESEL - not yet tested on this burner OFFICIALLY but we are running tests satisfactorily. We can supply limited test results to seriously interested parties BUT bio is 3 x the cost of heating oil at present so don't think its a cheap option! -see Aga section for more information on the Aga running on Bio 100 in Bolton. Some fitting photos .The ceramics ,oil filter, KBB ,6mm oil line etc all parts supplied in our conversion Its an upwards firing Pressure jet -
G209 being fitted with ceramic ropes
